The truth is, that scenario is closer to you than you think; this is CBCMUN 2026, a space in which you’ll be able to speak your mind, do research on global issues and find solutions for them.
A Model of United Nations is a student-led simulation in which students take on roles of delegates representing various countries, public figures and groups to discuss complex, global challenges and their possible solutions through argumentation and negotiation.
The project was implemented around 10 years ago at Nuestra Señora del Buen Consejo’s school and has turned out to be one of the most significant and emblematic events among students and academic personnel over the years.
Exciting and challenging for many, while demanding or arduous for others, the impact of the Model of United Nations is undeniable.
The simulation has proven the variety of students’ abilities in all sorts of areas; embracing responsibility while working on the correct management of the model, discussing problems of great relevance around the world, creating scenarios that reinforce the importance of discussion and creating awareness.
The possibilities are endless in CBCMUN. There’s a place for every person and every idea in the institution, and rest assured you will find it by simply looking at your surroundings.
The Model of United Nations is an activity that contributes to both people’s personal and professional development, since it tests dialectics and argumentation skills, abilities to negotiate, and prepares students for professional life through oratory and public speaking.
The simulation is possible thanks to all the different groups of people; it isn’t individual work. It embraces teamwork, receptiveness and critical thinking while understanding international concerns, their impact and the significance of finding viable, peaceful solutions for them.
It goes beyond professional areas, but the greatest impact of the exercise is on how we see our surroundings.
Beyond the ability to prove a point, reach agreements, or question choices and opinions, it is the development of a sense of empathy that is forged most.
Staying cultured, informed and conscious allows us to think outside the box, to think past any border or language in between.
Taking a role outside our current reality enfolds the concept of speaking up for others as well.
Voice is a treasure that must be used for the good, for the change, for the resolution.
